To live the Gospel message by serving Christ in the poor with love, respect, justice, and joy.

A project whereby Society of St. Vincent de Paul conferences in the southern part of Canada, assist those in need, in the far north and Arctic, by annually shipping sea containers of food and necessities. The cost of living in the Arctic is extremely high and most find it difficult to make ends meet.  The St. Albert SSVP Conference involving both the Holy Family and St. Albert Parishes, is paired with the Hamlet of Ulukhaktok, NWT.  Nine other Northern and Arctic communities will be receiving SSVP assistance from the Edmonton area (and one from Calgary)

We are so excited to welcome Darsey to the parish staff. She will be working part-time and working very closely with Debbie. Get to know her a bit better:

Hi everyone, my name is Darsey Korchinski, and I have taken the position of the parish finance person and will be filling Frank’s shoes – a monumental challenge.  Recently, I relocated to St. Albert after a lifetime in Saskatchewan. I retired from federal public service after 20+ years working in finance and compensation. I then worked in two parishes as office manager / bookkeeper for several years. I became more involved in parish life and volunteered in several ministries; which deepened my faith and helped me build a closer relationship with God. Spending time with family and friends, whenever possible, is my greatest joy. I am making many new friends in this beautiful city and especially looking forward to getting to know more parishioners of St Albert Parish.
